Meet the team

Originally from Melbourne, Joachim founded Ocean Alliance when he relocated to Sydney, Australia after gaining extensive first-hand experience within the international superyacht industry.

His roles were involved in the operation and management of both private and chartered superyachts in regions covering the globe.

After relocating to Sydney in 2006 following many years working in the industry abroad he was involved with the Australian agency for several key European shipyards.

He frequently returned to international boat shows & conferences while managing client’s new construction yachts and overseeing their delivery and management in Australia & Europe.

The Ocean Alliance headquarters were established in 2011 after identifying an industry shortfall of local and international experience.

His drive was a key interest in the development of the Australian charter & high-end brokerage market, coupled with the experienced representation and marketing of international cruising destinations.

Joachim’s extensive experience in the industry allows him to assist clients in all aspects of a superyacht experience including charter brokerage, charter management, yacht brokerage, new construction, operational guidance, commercial structures and superyacht marketing. His attention to detail and unwavering client-focused approach encompass the foundation of Ocean Alliance.

When he indulges in spare time, Jo loves surfing, escaping away with his wife and their dog Archie, and he particularly appreciates Italian red wines.

Daniel Farrell joined Ocean Alliance as after an extensive career in the maritime industry.

Daniel began as a Dive Master on the Great Barrier Reef before heading overseas in 2004 to work in the superyacht industry. Over two decades, he gained experience as a Superyacht Captain, charter manager, and owner representative, cruising globally through the Mediterranean, Caribbean, South Pacific, and beyond. He also worked with commercial vessels and in marine construction, building marinas and docks.

Passionate about the marine environment and its preservation, Daniel brings a wealth of expertise in charter management and destination planning to Ocean Alliance, ensuring exceptional experiences for clients.

When not working, Daniel loves spending time with his family and enjoys any activity that gets him outdoors, from exploring Australia’s natural beauty to spending time on the water.

Lauren grew up sailing with her family in Canada, developing a lifelong connection to the water before trading the cold for the sunny shores of Sydney. Her passion for sailing led her to coach and later manage sailing programs in both Canada and Australia.

Now based in Sydney, Lauren brings together her maritime background with experience across marketing, management and hospitality, developing a strong appreciation for personalised service and meticulous attention to detail.

As Charter Experience Manager at Ocean Alliance, Lauren works closely with guests to design seamless and highly personalised yacht charters, guiding clients from their first enquiry through to their time on board. Her focus is on understanding each client’s vision and ensuring every element of the journey reflects the exceptional standards Ocean Alliance is known for.

When she’s not helping guests plan their time on the water, you’ll likely find Lauren enjoying Sydney’s beaches, exploring the city’s vibrant restaurant scene, or stopping to give plenty of attention to any dog she meets along the way.

From London, George joined the superyacht industry having enviously watched his friends travel the world onboard yachts.

George previously worked as a writer and producer for a leading industry media company, where he developed a strong network and relationships across all sectors of the yachting world.

Relocating to Australia in 2019, George directed the Australia InDepth documentary series, which covered charter opportunities in the country and featured Ocean Alliance in several episodes.

He since travelled around the world producing a new documentary series on the people behind the construction of superyachts, before returning to Sydney to join Ocean Alliance.

George’s passion is to tell engaging stories and share the unique yachting experience visually. Away from the industry, George spends his time developing scripted & unscripted projects, exploring Australia, and complaining about his football team.
